ECOFABRIC TRACE

A digital traceability platform designed to support circular textile systems, Digital Product Passports, and regulatory readiness.

Digital traceability for textiles and apparel

EcoFabric Trace is B Circular’s digital traceability and data layer, designed to support visibility, governance, and accountability across the textile lifecycle.

Rather than operating as a standalone software tool, EcoFabric Trace is embedded into textile systems from the point of material selection and product development. This ensures traceability is structurally integrated, not retrofitted after production.

The platform enables product-level data capture across fibre origin, material composition, manufacturing stages, issue, use, and recovery. This supports organisations seeking greater transparency across apparel and uniform programs while maintaining commercial feasibility and operational continuity.

EcoFabric Trace is built to function across Australian operations while remaining interoperable with global regulatory direction. It supports organisations navigating increasing expectations around material transparency, circularity, and value-chain accountability without disrupting existing procurement or production workflows.

At its core, EcoFabric Trace transforms garments from unmanaged consumables into governed assets with verifiable lifecycle data.

Digital Product Passport (DPP)

From uniform to governed asset

The Digital Product Passport embeds traceability directly into each garment through QR-enabled identification, enabling controlled governance across its lifecycle.

Each garment carries a unique digital record that connects material composition, manufacturing data, and chain-of-custody information into a single, accessible source. This allows garments to be identified, managed, and recovered with confidence rather than treated as anonymous inventory.

The Digital Product Passport enables:

Material identification to support accurate sorting, reuse, and recovery Material identification to support accurate sorting, reuse, and recovery

Chain-of-custody tracking from issue through use, redistribution, and end-of-life

Digitally verifiable records to support ESG, audit, and compliance teams

Designed to align with emerging EU Digital Product Passport direction, the system delivers immediate operational value while establishing a future-ready foundation for regulatory alignment.

Through the DPP, a garment is no longer just apparel.  It becomes a data-bearing, auditable asset within an organisation’s operational system.

ASRS + EU ESPR (Active Implementation)

EcoFabric Trace actively supports Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) reporting and EU-aligned Digital Product Passport (DPP) implementation under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

A QR-enabled Digital Product Passport is deployed to provide product-level material identification, chain-of-custody tracking, and recovery pathway visibility. This directly supports ASRS value-chain disclosures, including Scope 3 (Purchased Goods and Services), while enabling structured ESG reporting for Australian workwear and uniform procurement.

In parallel, EcoFabric Trace is implemented in line with EU ESPR requirements, capturing structured, product-level data across fibre composition, manufacturing processes, and end-of-life pathways. This data model is designed for interoperability with EU Digital Product Passport frameworks, supporting circularity, resource efficiency, and traceability obligations as they come into force.

Rather than relying on estimates or narrative-based disclosures, EcoFabric Trace operates on primary supply-chain data, creating an auditable basis for both Australian and EU reporting environments.

EcoFabric Trace actively delivers:

ASRS-aligned value-chain and Scope 3 data inputs
Product-level traceability consistent with EU ESPR and DPP structures
Visibility into reuse, recovery, and recycling pathways
Material transparency across fibre composition and sourcing
A single traceability system supporting multiple regulatory regimes

For Australian organisations operating across domestic and EU-linked value chains, EcoFabric Trace enables dual-regime reporting without duplication, reducing compliance risk while improving operational transparency.

By embedding traceability at system level, EcoFabric Trace allows organisations to meet current ASRS obligations and active EU ESPR implementation pathways simultaneously — not sequentially.
