Sustainable Materials

Engineered fibre systems designed for performance, durability, and recovery

Material systems designed for performance and longevity

Material selection at B Circular goes beyond surface-level performance metrics. Circularity is achieved through systems, not single fibres.

B Circular designs material systems using natural, regenerated, and recycled fibres, selected and blended based on application requirements, operating environments, durability expectations, and recovery pathways. Rather than promoting individual fibres in isolation, materials are engineered as part of an integrated textile system.

Through ArcFlex material engineering and a network of verified supply partners, B Circular develops fabrics that are suitable for real-world use, repeatable production, and long-term outcomes. Each material system is assessed not only on how it performs in use, but on how it can be managed, reused, or recovered at end of life.

Australian Cotton

Australian grown. Australian worn.

Australian-grown cotton selected for breathability, durability, and suitability to local climates and operating conditions.  Australian cotton is used where natural fibre performance, comfort, and local supply chain transparency are critical. Material selection prioritises consistency, fibre quality, and compatibility with existing Australian recovery pathways.

Organic Cotton

Certified organic cotton sourced to reduce chemical inputs and support improved soil health and biodiversity outcomes.  Organic cotton is used selectively where application requirements allow and where recovery pathways can be maintained. Material selection balances environmental considerations with durability, availability, and scalability.

Used where appropriate, organic cotton supports:

Supima cotton

Premium long-staple cotton engineered for durability, strength, and extended garment life. Supima cotton is selected for applications requiring higher performance and longevity, where reduced replacement frequency contributes to lower overall environmental impact across the garment lifecycle.

Regenerated Cellulosics: TENCEL, Lyocell, Modal

Regenerated man-made cellulosic fibres selected for softness, moisture management, and performance consistency.

Fibres such as TENCEL™, Lyocell, and Modal are used where comfort, breathability, and controlled production processes are required. These fibres are integrated into material systems designed to balance performance with lower environmental intensity.

Used in applications requiring:

GRS: Recycled Polyester

Post-consumer recycled polyester integrated into material systems where durability, appearance retention, and performance stability are critical.

Recycled polyester is selected to support waste diversion while maintaining professional performance standards. Its use is carefully engineered to ensure compatibility with recovery systems and fabric durability requirements.

Textile Innovation (ArcFlex)

Material systems, not commodity fabrics

ArcFlex is B Circular’s textile innovation and material engineering division.

Rather than sourcing off-the-shelf fabrics, ArcFlex designs textile systems that integrate fibre selection, fabric construction, and performance requirements into repeatable, scalable specifications.

ArcFlex focuses on:

Materials are selected not only for how they perform in use, but for what happens after use — a core requirement of circular textile systems.
